About Pastoral Counselors: Pastoral Counselor : A Pastoral Counselor (also known as Christian counselor) licensed mental health professional who integrates psychological principles with spiritual and theological insights to provide holistic counseling. School Counselor : A School Counselor is a certified and professionally trained educator who provides academic, career, college readiness, and social-emotional support to students within a school setting. School Counselors play a critical role in providing guidance to students on personal challenges as well like bullying, anxiety, peer pressure, family issues, grief, or low self-esteem. Addiction (Substance Use Disorder (SUD)) Counselor: An Addiction Counselor is a licensed mental health therapist who help individuals struggling with addiction of alcohol, drug, or other substance use disorder. These counselors work with clients by helping them to manage and overcome the psychological, emotional, and behavioral challenges related to substance use. These counselors also work closely with families and support systems to help them better understand their loved one’s illness. SUD counselors help to promote long-term sobriety, emotional stability, and overall mental wellness for both the individual and their family.
